G. William Woods, M.D., is widely recognized for his numerous contributions in sports medicine and surgery of the knee.


Active staff appointments include Texas Orthopedic Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, and St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital. Dr. Woods was instrumental in the vision, design, and construction of Texas Orthopedic Hospital.

A native of Arkansas, Dr. Woods received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Arkansas, and his Medical Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital, and his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Arkansas Medical Center and Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Woods was awarded a fellowship from the University of Oregon in Sports Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery of the Knee.
