Dr. Scott Stanislaw graduated from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, where he received a degree in biochemistry. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
Dr. Stanislaw went on to complete his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Geisinger Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. He also completed training in pediatric orthopedics at A I duPont Institute in Wilmington, Delaware. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.
In 1998, Dr Stanislaw began practicing orthopedic surgery in Texas. While Dr. Stanislaw practices general orthopedics, he has specific interests in joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery. He has received extensive training in the non-surgical and surgical management of orthopedic disorders and problems. He provides minimally invasive surgical options when possible, including minimally invasive joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee. He currently works with Kingwood/Humble/Atascocita, New Caney, and Splendora School Districts as their sports physician.
Dr. Stanislaw prefers a non-operative approach to the management of orthopedic problems. He utilizes a variety of treatments and interventions to help alleviate symptoms prior to the consideration of surgery. If symptoms do not respond adequately to non-operative measures, then Dr. Stanislaw will discuss with the patient the benefits as well as the potential risks of surgery. Both the surgical procedure and the expected post-operative course will be thoroughly discussed with the patient prior to any surgical procedure.
Dr. Stanislaw is a member of the American Medical Association, Western Orthopedic Association, and Texas Orthopedic Association. He and his wife reside locally. In his spare time, he enjoys sports and outdoor activities.
