David W. Wimberley, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in surgery of the spine.
A native of Houston, Texas, Dr. Wimberley graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and biology from West Texas A & M University. He then graduated number one in his class with a Medical Doctorate from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas, Texas. Dr. Wimberley completed
his general surgery internship at The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and his orthopedic surgery residency at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and a fellowship in orthopedic spine surgery at The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. His final fellowship in orthopedic spine surgery was completed at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Wimberley has many honors and awards to his credit, including the Ho Din Award, which is the
highest honor awarded to the one graduating medical student at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School who exemplifies the human understanding and medical wisdom that symbolizes the fundamental concept on which the medical college was based. While in medical
school, he was also member of the Alpha Omega Alpha. In college, Dr. Wimberley was on the Dean's List and the President's Honor Roll. Dr. Wimberley has many publications and presentations to his credit. He is a member of the following societies:

Dr. Wimberley maintains medical staff privileges at Texas Orthopedic Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, and
St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital. In
