K. Mathew Warnock, M.D., specializes in
shoulder surgery as well as arthroscopy and general orthopedic surgery. He has a
special interest in the treatment of patients with shoulder problems, including
sports-related injuries, reconstruction, and trauma.
Dr. Warnock completed
a shoulder and elbow fellowship, giving him added expertise in this area of
orthopedic surgery. He received his medical school education and residency
training in Houston at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He cared
for patients at Memorial Hermann Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston
Shriners Hospital, Texas Orthopedic Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital and Lyndon
B. Johnson Hospital. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham
Young University on a Presidential Scholarship in Provo, Utah.
Dr.
Warnock is married and is the oldest of nine children. He graduated from Wichita
Falls High School and he has lived in Texas for most of his life. He served as a
missionary for two years in Spain and Portugal performing service projects and
providing religious education. He also spent time volunteering at the public
hospital in Puebla, Mexico. He has lived and traveled abroad extensively and is
fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese. He enjoys caring for patients of all
cultures and backgrounds.
Dr. Warnock has been involved in orthopedic
research and teaching. He has participated in writing book chapters, publishing
scientific articles, presenting his scientific work at national meetings, and
teaching other orthopedic surgeons. He continues to participate in ongoing
research and is a member of the following societies:
