Wayne O. Alani, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon practicing general orthopedics.
In addition to active staff privileges at West Houston Medical Center, Southwest Memorial Hospital and Texas Orthopedic Hospital, Dr. Alani has consulting privileges at OakBend Hospital.
A native of Bryan, Texas, Dr. Alani attended Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas. Dr. Alani received his
medical doctorate from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas in 1983. He
completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Kansas Medical School in Wichita, Kansas in 1988. He then completed
his training with a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Alani has written and presented over a dozen papers. He currently serves as chairman
of the Utilization Committee and Secretary-Treasurer of Medical Staff at Columbia West Houston Medical Center, and on the Operating Room
Equipment Committee at Memorial Hospital Southwest. Dr. Alani served as Chief of Staff for Columbia West Houston Medical Center from 1992-1996.
