Peggy Pierce joined Fondren Orthopedic Group L.L.P. in 1989 and has been the Administrator since 1993. Mrs. Pierce worked in public accounting at a Houston Certified Public Accounting firm for ten years prior to her association with Fondren Orthopedic Group L.L.P.
Mrs. Pierce played an instrumental role in the development of Texas Orthopedic Hospital, which opened in 1995. As one of the only specialty orthopedic hospitals in the country she continues to play a significant role in its successful operations today.
Mrs. Pierce earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Houston in 1981 and is a Fellow in The American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE). She has authored and co-authored numerous articles that deal with the business side of orthopedics. Mrs. Pierce’s publications have been published in many prestigious journals including The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
Karen Yates joined Fondren Orthopedic Group L.L.P. in 1994 and is the Group’s Assistant Administrator. Prior to Ms. Yates’ association with Fondren Orthopedic Group L.L.P., she worked as Practice Manager for another Houston medical group for eleven years.
Ms. Yates’ vast experience in practice management provides her with a breadth of knowledge in varying aspects of operations from clinical to financial. In addition to her role with Fondren Orthopedic Group L.L.P., Ms. Yates also assists with many operational issues with Texas Orthopedic Hospital.
Ms. Yates is a board certified member of The American College of Medical Practice Executives (CMPE) and has attended classes at both San Jacinto College and El Centro College. In addition, she is a certified provider credentialing specialist (CPCS) and has affiliations with many practice management organizations.
