At Fondren Orthopedic Group, we are proud to be one of the six founding divisions launching a new combined orthopedic group practice - OrthoLoneStar. This partnership will allow us to continue to build upon our legacy as well as advance care across the entire state of Texas.

We understand that you may have questions relating to OrthoLoneStar. To help you find the answers you are looking for, we have the following frequently asked questions listed below. If you have additional questions about this change, especially if you have any concerns, please let us know.

Why are you launching OrthoLoneStar?

By selectively joining up with quality doctors, we can influence and improve medical practice through independent, physician-led healthcare. We will be able to share resources, expertise, and best practices to define clinical excellence and improve orthopedic outcomes.

When will I notice a change?

You should see some changes in our website, lobby design, and other paperwork starting now! You will notice our new name start to pop up on your Explanation of Benefits (EOB), appointment reminders, statements, and medical records as we launch in early 2021.

How did you pick the other groups to join together with?

We identified the top-performing groups in Texas who share our core values and beliefs and joined them in launching OrthoLoneStar so that we can provide the highest quality of orthopedic outcomes at the best value across the state.

Are you changing your name?

Our legal name has changed to OrthoLoneStar, which is what you will see when we file your insurance, collect copays, or work on joint projects with our partners. However, our legacy and our history here at Fondren Orthopedic Group is not going anywhere. We relate it to a marriage - we changed our last name to “A Division of OrthoLoneStar,” and together, we will do amazing things that we might not have done alone . . . but we are the group you have always known, with the personality you have always trusted.

What are the advantages for the patient?

You can receive seamless care from any of our divisions across the state. We will be able to offer leading-edge access to the newest therapies, most advanced clinical pathways, and most effective patient care as an independent physician group, not beholden to investors or faraway corporate offices. Our owners are our doctors - which is how medicine should be practiced.

Where can I get further information?

First and foremost - ask any of us! This is a great step for the practice, and we would love to discuss it with you. Secondly, please visit our top-level website at www.ortholonestar.com.
